“But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love, will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple in the fear of you.”

We can count it a great blessing to be able to come to the Lord’s house each week, bowing down to Him in worship, singing praise to Him, learning more about His great love that He has for us. We can feel comfortable around other Christians knowing we are all there for the same purpose. And that makes us feel like close family, wanting to get to know those around us a little better. Even while His love dwells there, we still have fear and reverence for Him, just knowing of the power that He possesses, and His ability to execute that power as He wishes.

“Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.”  (Psalm 43:4)

We have safety from those on the outside, those who may have something against us and consider us their enemy. They may say things against us that aren’t true, they may be deceitful, try to slander us. But God knows their hearts, and He will destroy them. He cannot tolerate evil people. We know that His protection is all around us. Because of this, we can be happy and rejoice, and sing songs of joy. “May the Lord give strength to His people! May the Lord bless his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)

As long as we remain faithful to our God, and live in obedience to His will, He will protect us as a good father protects his family!

Prayer for today:  We praise you, God, and have reverence for You. We worship and adore You. Protect us with the power that only You possess. Make us an obedient people, always wanting to please You in all things. Thank you! Amen.
