“Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my groaning. Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God…”

Do we feel confident that the Lord is listening to our prayers in the morning? Do we wonder if the Lord is actually paying any attention to what we’re saying? Do we ever ask Him to listen closely, or do we feel He may be listening, and then, again, maybe He’s not? We need confidence in knowing He is paying attention and will answer our prayer as He sees fit for the overall good, and that it will be in His best interest, not necessarily mine at the moment. Do we find ourselves saying a prayer, then sitting and waiting for Him to answer it, now!? “I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord.” (Psalm 130:5)

The Lord loves you. He doesn’t love the proud, the wicked, the liars, and the violent people. He destroys them. He abhors all those who delight in wickedness. (Psalm 11:5)

We need to keep being faithful, always aware of what He may think about what we are doing at any moment of the day. Is whatever we’re doing going to bring honor and glory to God, or are we being selfish in thinking only about the pleasure of our own interests?

Let’s be honest with God, all the time, and be frank about what’s going on in our lives. When we go to Him in prayer, we need to be really, really honest with Him. He already knows what’s going on in our hearts. Let’s not be found trying to fool our all-knowing God!

Prayer for today:   God, we honor you, we trust you--in however you may choose to answer our prayers. We know you will answer, and it will be the right answer. Help us to never doubt as we pray. Help us to live a life that will glorify and honor you, all the time. Amen.
